Our all new Intermediate Skills Set program is perfect for students wanting to pin point certain skills and take their creative design set to the next level.
From your foundation and technical skills to large creative works this course has been specially selected to not only teach necessary skills but to boost your creative development. Abundant with beautiful blooms and hard goods our Intermediate Skills Set Program is perfect for the beginner or a florist wanting to redevelop their skill set.
The business of floristry is rapidly moving forward. So many of us in the profession have seen a huge and positive shift. Our ALL-NEW projects will take your learning skill beyond next level. Much time and attention has been put into our new space and program ensuring an amazingly creative and fulfilling experience for our students!

overview of 2025 Intermediate program
Remember, ALL floral and hard goods will go home with you at the end of every class.
CLASS ONE (12pm to 5pm)
Students will learn the most popular trends and flower and rose varieties. You will be presented with a power point sheet going over yearly availability of flowers as well as care and processing. In class 1 we will cover the “need to follow” florists, trend makers and influencers on social media as well as TFS alumni who have ventured into self-employment.
Students will be introduced to and familiarized with our preferred wholesalers with who you have immediate access with your tuition. You will learn wholesale pricing and bulk purchasing protocol.
PROJECT 1 – SPIRAL TIED BOUQUETS
Students will learn the proper hand tying skills essential to floristry. Repetition and re development techniques will be applied as you design 3 to 4 tied bouquets!
PROJECT 2 NEW – VESSEL GRIDDING AND FLOWER CARE
Students will learn the technique of professional gridding. There is a proper way to grid and we will teach you the professional technique every florist should know. Besides gridding students will learn techniques about the proper usage of Oasis Foam, standard and instant, The Oshun Pouch, Agora Foam and chicken wire. As well students will learn about the proper handling and cutting of flowers. Students will learn the purchasing and rehydrating treatments of Hydrangeas and Roses., as well as other local and imported florals.
PROJECT 3 NEW – GRID DESIGN
Students will design their florals in a florist tape grid. Students will learn about height and proportion as well sustainability and delivery endurance.
CLASS TWO (12pm to 5pm)
Chicken wire or foam, sculpture or garden? In class 2 we explore the options with the most beautiful blooms both local and imported.
PROJECT 1 – GARDEN STYLE DESIGN
In this class students will make the beautiful Garden Style arrangement, plump with open florals and wispy foliages. By now skills have begun to develop and these stunning and intricate designs of exquisite blooms will become exciting to design with. At this point students are more confident and thrilled with their success.
PROJECT 2 – NEW SCHOOL DESIGN
More and more event and wedding florists are creating beautifully sculptured designs for their clients. Designs stacked and layered looking unique yet architectural. Fruit and florals abound this project is an absolute must for the creative designer making a mark on their field.
PROJECT 3 – CHICKEN WIRE DESIGN
Here students will learn to make a stunning floral arrangement by using chicken wire as your armature. Learn the ease with which chicken wire allows while learning the proper design elements of technique.
CLASS THREE (12pm to 5pm)
Our third class is focused all things personal wedding florals. In order to benefit your social media and websites, time will be allotted for photography.
PROJECT 1 NEW – HAND TIED WEDDING BOUQUET DESIGN
Students will learn the technique of hand tying a garden style bridal bouquet. A beautiful assortment of local and imported florals will be used to create a contemporary whimsical bouquet.
PROJECT 2 – CHICKEN WIRE AS AN ARMATURE BOUQUET DESIGN
Students will make an impressive and abundant bridal bouquet using chicken wire as an armature. This technique is currently being used around the world and really guarantees great design success. This technique is a fantastic bouquet go-to technique to learn. Beautiful florals and foliage always provided.
PROJECT 3 – CORSAGES AND BOUTONNIERES
Students will learn and create contemporary corsages and boutonnieres. Students will make 2 separate wrist corsages and 1 contemporary boutonniere focusing on simple and sturdy techniques. Techniques moving into the future of body florals.
PROJECT 4 – FLORAL CROWN DESIGN
Our students love this much requested project, the ever popular floral crown.. You will learn attainable mechanics learning technique and speed as you work with gorg local and imported blooms.
MENTORSHIP
Your mentorship shall last as long as you require. Students may call, email or come by with any floristry related concerns. From wedding quotes to flower recognition, sustainability, seasonality or design help you are free and welcomed to access us. Students receive a TFS discount on all upcoming events and seminars.
