Welcome to our ALL NEW Introduction to Floristry classes!
These four classes have been designed for aspiring students entering the fast paced world of Floristry. You will be taught the fundamental floristry skills basic to the Canadian flower store market.
Your projects have been carefully selected to get you out the door and on the move!!
Florals will be selected that are representative of florals typically offered in a florist shop.
Many people have asked for a course like this. ‘Time effective, cost effective and skills effective!
Remember, we are florists too, so this is right up our alley. We look so forward to passing our years of knowledge along.

THE DESIGNS AND INSTRUCTION EVERY NEW FLORIST NEEDS TO KNOW

CLASS ONE (7PM to 9PM)
Our first class will be based on the technique of creating spiral tied bouquets. The skill of bouquet making is essential in today’s floristry market.
Students will learn tied bouquet techniques. The technical reality of these bouquets can be daunting, however you will learn the proper placement, handling and binding of this essential floristry product. Bouquets will be made a minimum of four times.
Students will learn proper cutting and vase placement as well as learn contemporary floral wrapping.
CLASS TWO (7PM to 9PM)
As in class one we will begin with spiral tying our florals. Will your memory serve you right? By repeatedly focusing on tying bouquets at the beginning of every class you will soon remember you’re taught techniques. Bouquets will be made a minimum of two times.
Students will then learn the proper techniques in creating a centerpiece, lux and full in oasis floral foam. A floristry staple.
Lastly students will create wrist corsages (two) using the most up to date techniques. A skill every Florist must know.
CLASS THREE (7PM to 9PM)
Brand new florals and a brand new opportunity to tie a bouquet! By now things are coming more naturally and what was a challenge is now a developing skill! Bouquets will be made a minimum of two times. Students will create a one sided floral arrangement focusing on contemporary styling. Another floristry staple. Students will gift wrap their arrangements with contemporary and professional techniques.
CLASS FOUR (7PM to 9PM)
In our final class, skills have developed and your final two tied bouquets will be of little challenge. Your confidence has built and your own personal sense of style is coming through in your work. Bouquets will be made a minimum of two times.
Students will learn the sought after technique of designing an arrangement in chicken wire. Sustainable design is a critical element in today’s floristry climate. You will be taught every element in creating a stunning contemporary piece. Students will then complete 2 separate boutonnieres in a contemporary style.
DISCUSSION
Throughout our classes we discuss the business of floristry, purchasing, floral supply and demand and so much more. Students receive a certificate of completion.
All questions will be answered and with your included mentorship you have access to any of our staff once your course is completed with any questions you may have.
